We are running a competition to name the Art Project sculpture.  Enter here or read the terms and conditions.

Update: August 2011

Thanks to our sponsors and the fundraising efforts of our members through activities such as our bi-annual sausage sizzle, the HPCA is proud to announce that funding has been raised to commence the build of an art sculpture at the entrance to Hammond Park, on the corner of Russel Road and Ashendon Blvd.

Students at Emmanual College are currently working with artist Tony Pankiw to design the metal sculpture with a nature theme. The sculpture is currently scheduled for unveiling in Nov. 2011. An event will be held to thank our sponsors and celebrate the new installation. Please feel free to visit our website or Facebook page for more information.

Many thanks to our sponsors for the Art Project:

The H.P.C.A. Art Project is a community project to build a feature at the entrance to the estates to replace the original fountain at the corner of Ashendon Blvd and Russel Road. The fountain was a popular landmark for residents and the community, and its removal sparked much debate.

The Art Project will aim to re-establish the entrance as a feature within the community by developing an art feature for the entrance to the estates. Consultation was undertaken with the community in order to gather public opinion about the art piece and from this consultation an artist was recommended.

Based on the consultation, the Art Project will be a metal sculpture with a nature theme. Emmanuel College will be involved in the design process with the artist, as well as the creation of some of the art pieces.

The H.P.C.A. has contributed to the development of the Art Project via ongoing fundraising projects.

The Association is currently contacting organisations and companies within the community in an effort to fully fund this worthwhile community project.

If you would like to contribute to this project, please contact the H.P.C.A.
