Friends of the Cockburn Wetlands Education Centre

 Our volunteers

The Friends of the Cockburn Wetlands Education Centre come from all walks of life and have a variety of interests.

Many members are keen bird watchers and as a result have contributed to the Birds Australia Atlassing project over many years.

Tree planting days and christmas breakfast bbq's are enjoyed by many of the friends.

Our members like to celebrate and on this occassion it was a grant to frame historic photographs which currenlty hang in the board room at the Wetlands Centre.

The Friends were successful in obtaining a grant worth nearly $5000 from Lotterywest to buy much needed equipment. The telescopes will be used by volunteers to count and document the birds on the nearby lakes.

Our youngest member, Siobhan Street, aged 9 (nearly 10) shows us what our unique wildlife looks like through her eyes.
