Aubin Grove Community Centre

A ‘Spring Fair’ sub committee has been formed and has met twice. Date for the spring fair is Sunday 3 October. Terry is in process of getting quotes for proposed events so as to get a grant from the CC.  So far suggestions for the day are: Bouncy Castle, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Balloon Man, Local community Sports and or Dance displays, Face Painting, Ice Cream van and various activities such as sack races and egg and spoon races.  Sausage Sizzle/Food Stalls being investigated and may be possible to use kitchen on site with local sports club. Terry to temporarily deputise a friend to help with the organisation of the fair due to increased work committments – no objections to this were made.

AGRA AGM

We have 18 months from Incorporation to hold and AGM so we will re-visit this early in the new year but if any member wants to volunteer as a committee member or wishes to nominate a new committee members before then we will call a special meeting as per the constitution.  The constitution will be e-mailed to all existing members and will be put on the community website.

Committee Member ‘job descriptions’ will also be put on the website.

AGRA Sign

We are not going ahead with this at present and feel that we can advertise as well at the community centre and the new primary school.

Incorporation

We have received our Certificate of Incorporation. Terry to be re-imbursed personally for the following expenses related to the incorporation: Advertisement in the Newspaper & Government Fees for Incorporation

Bank Account : to be opened with 3 signatories: Terry Cain, Sharmaine Seddon and Denis Burdinat of which any 2 must sign for a transaction.

Other Business

  • Possibility of arranging a speaker from Neighbourhood watch - ongoing
  • Shade Sails in Radiata Park –some signs of preparations for sails has been seen in Radiata Park but probably will not be put up until spring/summer.
  • Letter sent to Council regarding BBQ’s in parks – ongoing
  • Letter has been sent to CCC requesting play equipment in Aubin Parklands parks – ongoing
  • Enquiries to be made re a public toilet in or near parks in Aubin Grove – ongoing, although unlikely.
